Man of the Year meets Rookie of the Year. Two dope artists...salute.

- RIP Leslie Nielsen: Dedication (His Finest Moments) -

In memory of one of the greatest ever, and one of my personal favorite stars of comedy, Leslie Nielsen.

"No spoof was ever complete without the deceptively straight-faced funnyman Leslie Nielsen, who sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 84.

Starting out as a dramatic actor and turned down for the lead in The Shining (surely we can’t be serious), Nielsen instead found work in legendary comedies Airplane!, The Naked Gun and more recently showing them kids how it’s done in the Scary Movie franchise. Whether it was a hapless doctor, a hapless spy or a hapless cop, Nielsen mastered a face of complete obliviousness while all around him fell to pieces."

Click Here For The Full List of Videos

Mr. Nielsen was really something special, a master at his craft, and had me laughing non-stop. So I feel it's only right, to also add a brief biography.

"Leslie William Nielsen, was a Canadian–American actor and comedian. Nielsen appeared in over one hundred films and 1,500 television programs over the span of his career, portraying over 220 characters.

Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, Nielsen enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and worked as a disc jockey before receiving a scholarship to Neighborhood Playhouse. Beginning with a television role in 1948, he quickly expanded to over 50 television appearances two years later. Nielsen appeared in his first films in 1956 and began collecting roles in dramas, westerns, and romance films. Nielsen's lead roles in the films Forbidden Planet (1956) and The Poseidon Adventure (1972) received positive reviews as a serious actor.

Although Nielsen's acting career crossed a variety of genres in both television and films, his deadpan delivery as a doctor in Airplane! (1980) marked a turning point in his career, one that would make him, in the words of film critic Roger Ebert, "the Olivier of spoofs." Nielsen enjoyed further success with The Naked Gun film series, based on a short-lived television series Police Squad! he starred in. His portrayal of serious characters seemingly oblivious to (and complicit in) their absurd surroundings gave him a reputation as a comedian. In the final two decades of his career, Nielsen appeared in multiple spoof and parody films, many of which were met poorly by critics but performed well in box office and home media releases. He was recognized with a variety of awards throughout his career and was inducted into both the Canada and Hollywood Walk of Fame. Nielsen married four times and had two daughters from his second marriage. On November 28, 2010, Nielsen died in his sleep in a Fort Lauderdale, Florida hospital of complications from pneumonia."

Rest In Peace: Leslie Nielsen (February 11, 1926 - November 28th, 2010)

- Timeless Hip Hop: Drake - "Best I Ever Had" [Directed By Kanye West] -

Salute to Drake also, because in my opinion (and my opinion only), I think half the music this man makes is timeless. (Again...MY opinion. Some folks might think EVERYTHING he makes is THAT good. No hate though.)

- Salute: Josh Hartnett -

Love this man's work. What I was randomly thinking the other day was, I think Josh Hartnett would've been a much better cast to play Bruce Wayne/Batman, rather than Christian Bale. Agree?

Off Jamie's 2008 album, "Intuition", this is actually the interlude on the album with the same name, "Intuition."

Since we're on the topic of the upcoming Marvel/DC films, let's keep the ball rolling into another sure hit, Captain America: The First Avenger. Over his past few films, I've become a big fan of Chris Evans, and honestly, I think he's perfect for Captain America.

As steps are taken towards the release of this definite blockbuster, I figured I'd dedicate a post, to what will surely be one of the greatest comic book/superhero (DC/Marvel) movies ever made. - Salute: Edward Norton -

I was watching "Fight Club" the other night, and just got reminded of how good of an actor Edward Norton is. The next night, "The Italian Job" was on tv, in which Edward plays the bad guy, and I just thought to myself, wow...regardless what role he's playing, he delivers such an amazing job. Salute to you, Mr. Norton.

- Trailer Exclusive: Green Lantern (Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively) [2011] -

Finally! I smell blockbuster with this film. No one better than Ryan Reynolds, I don't think anyone will be disappointed with him as Green Lantern.

- Salute: Ryan Reynolds -

Very talented man, Ryan Reynolds is one of my favorite actors. When every film a certain actor stars in is one of your favorites, that's being a fan.

NOTE: Check next post...

- Trailer Exclusive: Your Highness (James Franco, Danny McBride, Natalie Portman) [2011] -

If you're up on your 'IMDB' game and browse every day for upcoming movies, you've probably been waiting for this one for a minute now. I'm a HUGE fan of these guys, James Franco, Danny McBride, and the rest of that team/family, who aren't starring in this film, but are just as hilarious. (Seth Rogen, Craig Robinson, Jason Segel, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Jason Schwartzman, Ken Jeong, etc).

Oh and by the way, Natalie Portman looks amazing in this. Can't wait for this one..

- Salute: Shia Labeouf -

I support this man, whole-heartedly, and I love the path he took after being a 'Disney child', because not a lot of them last when they grow up. He's starred in great films, and personally, I think he, himself, is a great actor. Keep doing your thing, man.

NOTE: Shia will star in the 3rd Transformers installment, hitting theaters July 1st, 2011, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon". I've seen set photos, and it looks 'box-office smash'.

- Salute: Mark Wahlberg -

Big time salute to the man, Marky Mark. Every film he stars in is not only a hit, but a personal favorite. The projects he produces are also great, from Entourage, to How To Make It In America, to recently, Boardwalk Empire. Great talent.

NOTE: Huge rumor going around that Mark Wahlberg will star as Eric Draven/The Crow, in the upcoming 2011 remake of "The Crow". My personal opinion, that will be a different role to anything he played, but I still think he'll kill it.

- Salute: Jason Statham -

Big fan of this man's movies. The definition of 'bad ass'.

NOTE: Jason Statham has been confirmed for the sequel to one of my favorite action films, "The Expendables". Also returning, the originals, Sly Stallone & Jet Li.

- New Music: Dr. Dre feat. Snoop Dogg & Akon - "Kush" [Official 1st Single off Detox] -

It's about time some progress has been shown for the most anticipated album of the past few years. The legend, Dr. Dre drops his first single off DETOX, and it features his long-time partner in crime, Snoop Dogg and Akon.

Respect, to the pioneer herself...Miss Marilyn Monroe. Never forgotten.

- New Music: DMX & Busta Rhymes - "Y'all Don't Really Know" [Produced By Swizz Beatz] -

Shots to Swizzy for delivering great music through his "Monster Mondays" series. This week, Swizzy brought through two of the greatest to ever do it, on a wreckless instrumental (as usual). The dog himself, DMX has slowly been working on a comeback to the hip hop game, and although it's been a tough road for him, the true fans will always support X. Also on this 'monster' track, Busta Rhymes provides a killer verse, making it a perfect match...two of the livest artists ever. Much respect!

- New Music: Petey - "Not What You Think It Is" [The Gentleman's Handbook] -

New music off my mixtape, "The Gentleman's Handbook" dropping December 2nd.

This song honestly, wasn't even planned for the tape, but through certain situations I've been going through with a couple of fake friends, I got inspired to hit the booth one night, and let it all out. I'm sure you all have had something similar happen to you. It's part of life...you gotta watch out for the backstabbers.

Produced by DJ Corbett for Black Light Music LLC. Big shouts to that man, always producing dope material.

- Manny Pacquiao VS Antonio Margarito: Saturday, November 13th 2010 [Who You Got?] -

So what SHOULD have been Pacquiao vs Mayweather, ended up becoming in my mind, another victim for Pac-Man...Antonio Margarito. It's ok people, I still have faith for that Pay Per View of the decade.

Say Manny Pacquiao defeats Margarito (which I think is a no-brainer) and wins his EIGHTH title, there's nobody left to face other than the champ himself, Floyd Mayweather.

And when that fight happens, my money is on Pretty Boy Floyd. No doubt about it, it'll be a very close fight. And also no doubt a lot of people will have their money on Pacquiao. But Mayweather is a different breed. He will not lose...BUT as of now, these can only be words. Let's pray Mayweather is finally hungry to face Manny after the Margarito bout.

Once again, as far as the Margarito fight...not much to expect. With that being said...

PREDICTION: Manny Pacquiao wins by KO in 7th round.

- New Music: J.Cole feat. Drake - "In The Morning" (Prod. By L&X Music) [Friday Night Lights] -

J. Cole released another track early this morning, off his Friday Night Lights mixtape dropping today. This one features Drake...only a matter of time before it happened.

This defines 'feel good music', and what I like about this is how everyone expected the first track these two would do together would be something crazy lyrical, going back and forth, dropping bars. I love how they did something mellow, strictly for the ladies. Now I just hope J. Cole releases the instrumental, so somebody else (yours truly) can bless it.

Shouts to L&X Music too, they did an amazing job with this beat.

Make sure you get that Friday Night Lights...I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

- Appreciated: Rihanna -

Whatever color or style hair you rock...you're just as beautiful, baby. Love you.

NOTE: Go get her new album, "LOUD", in stores now. A beautiful collection of music. And also, Rihanna will star alongside Liam Neeson, in the upcoming video game-inspired film, "Battleship".

- Behind The Scenes: Rihanna feat. Drake - "What's My Name" -

Have a look behind the scenes for Miss Rihanna's new video, "What's My Name" featuring Drake. Great song and oh yeah...you're getting a little too close with my woman there, Drizzy.

Note: Check out the next post...it's only right.

- Salute: Johnny Bravo -

Mr. Bravo...I salute you.

- Appreciated: Megan Fox -

Love you, girl.

NOTE: Unfortunately, due to disagreements, we won't catch Megan in the new "Transformers", but be sure to check her out, alongside Mickey Rourke & Bill Murray, in the upcoming thriller, "Passion Play"...where she looks smoking, as usual.

- J. Cole (feat. Wale) - "You Got It" [Friday Night Lights] -

- Classic: Rolling Stone Gives Kanye West's 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' 5 Stars -

By Rob Sheffield
11.22.2010

"When Kanye West sings about "jerk-offs that’ll never take work off," you’d best believe he means himself. Being crazy is this guy’s job, and judging from the sound of his music, business is booming. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is his most maniacally inspired music yet, coasting on heroic levels of dementia, pimping on top of Mount Olympus. Yeezy goes for the grandeur of stadium rock, the all-devouring sonics of hip-hop, the erotic gloss of disco, and he goes for all of it, all the time. Nobody halfway sane could have made this album.

Last time, Kanye went minimal for the electro melancholia of 808s & Heartbreak. But on Fantasy, he gets ridiculously maximal, blowing past all the rules of hip-hop and pop, even though, for the past half-decade, he’s been the one inventing the rules. There are hip-hop epics, R&B ballads, alien electronics, prog-rock samples, surprise guests from Bon Iver to Fergie to Chris Rock, even a freaking Elton John piano solo. It’s his best album, but it’s more than that — it’s also a rock-star manifesto for a downsizing world. At a time when we all get hectored about lowering our expectations, surrendering our attention spans, settling for less, West wants us to demand more.

Nobody else is making music this daring and weird, from the spooky space funk of "Gorgeous" to the King Crimson-biting "Power" to the paranoid staccato strings of "Monster." Nearly six minutes into "Runaway," long after the song has already sealed itself in your brain, the sound cuts out and you think it’s over. Then there’s a plinking piano, the feedback of an electric guitar plugging in, some "Strawberry Fields"-style cellos and Yeezy himself singing a poignant Robert Fripp-style solo through his vocoder. There’s no way it should work, but it keeps rolling for three more minutes without breaking the spell.

Coming off a string of much-publicized emotional meltdowns, Yeezy is taking a deeper look inside the dark corners of his twisted psyche. He has sex and romance on his mind, but he comes clean about his male angst like never before. In confessions like "Runaway" and "Blame Game," he honestly struggles to figure out why he has to be such a douchebag. Yet the songs are also his funniest ever, with Kanye showing off lethal wit on the mic: In "Dark Fantasy," he rhymes "mercy, mercy me, that Murcielago" with "diablo," "bravado" and "My chick in that new Phoebe Philo/So much head, I woke up in Sleepy Hollow."

There’s a famous story about Queen making "Bohemian Rhapsody": Whenever the band thought the song was finished, Freddie Mercury would say, "I’ve added a few more ‘Galileos’ here, dear." But nobody can out-Galileo Kanye. With Fantasy, he makes everybody else on the radio sound laughably meek, but he’s also throwing down a challenge to the audience. Kanye West thinks you’re a moron if you settle for artists who don’t push as hard as he does. And that means pretty much everybody."
